A LETTER FROM AMERICA TO ALL EX-STUDENTS.

Good Afternoon Ex-Students and Teachers of 5th and 6th Classes of 1963
As the 2009 year winds down, we will have our focus on many things, Family, Christmas shopping, Parties, and Holidays.  In the case of holidays, some will be short impromptu getaways and others planned well in advance for the more extensive travel - like "Stockton" !
The subject of planning brings the school reunion into focus as there is an awful lot of careful planning being carried out behind the scenes by the steering committee comprising of Margaret Wright, Lesley Holdstock, Tony Davis, in conjunction with David Davies, Russell Williams, Mavis Shearman and Clayden Campbell helping the main committee . I Phil Wratten is involved as the de-facto member of the committee.

Organizing a reunion is no small feat when the variables and logistics are considered.  Such things such as location, timing and cost, pursuit of lost friends, the menu for the night and the entertainment, all take considerable time and effort to ensure success of the night and the weekend as a whole.

As surely as this year has flown quickly, so will the time fly rapidly leading to the June longweekend 2010, when all the planning will materialize into what will surely be a memorable weekend, the MAYFIELD WEST PRIMARY SCHOOL REUNION FOR 5TH AND 6TH CLASSES OF 1963.  I know that Lesley, as the Organizer of one feature of the night, has great things planned.

As we enjoy the festive season and the dawning of the New Year, I would like to ask all of us to consider how we may be able to assist in some way, small or otherwise, by keeping an ear to the ground for the past students that are missing from out database.
Further to the success of the reunion, to a large degree will fall on the shoulders of the steering committee, but I would like to ask ALL of us to assist the committee in anyand every way possible.  If you have a suggestion that might bring humour and interest to the nightplease pass your thoughts onto Margaret or Lesley as a first priority.

In finishing, I hope this finds you all well, looking forward to Christmas and 2010 with enthusiasm which will flow to getting invovled in some capacity to make the 2010 reunion of 46-47years of history, memorable as was the inital reunion of 1991.

On behalf of the Reunion Organizing Committee we wish you  Seasons Greetings and a Happy and Prosperous 2010.  We look forward to seeing all ex-students and teachers on 5th June 2010.

Kind Regards

Phil Wratten.
